Requesting Donations of Recipe Pages

This message is from Faye that used to be on the group on a regular basis. Since their transfer to England she has been too busy to keep up with the group much. She was telling me about a recipe album she wants to put together and I asked her to send me the details. Please read the information below...I think it would be wonderful if a bunch of us could donate a page for this album. Please give it some thought.... If you are interested in getting in on the drawing....please let Faye know...her email is listed below. Thanks ladies for your consideration of this request. Have a great day! Susan

I'm going to try and explain the reason for asking for help on a recipe book to donate to an auction. It is for the OCSC (Officers and Civilian Spouses Club). We do an auction every year to help raise funds for our Philanthropic Fund. This fund is used for many things. All the funds are put back into the military community and or our local British community as well. Just a few things that we have helped with in the past is: Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts, The High School Sports and Clubs, local community projects, books and shelving for a local school, scholarship funds and just recently a Memorial Fund just to name a few. It is amazing to see how all the monies are being spent and the good works that they are doing. I'm on the board this year so I'm seeing it at work first hand. Our group is responsible for hosting the auction this year. There are all sorts of stuff donated. We aren't allowed to solicited local or base businesses due to Air Force Regulations. So therefore we are depended upon people and what they can donate...or make. But we have always had a good turn out and made some pretty good money. What I'd like to do being a scrapper and know how nice the recipe books are is to do a Recipe Book and put it into the auction. I plan to ask the group of scrappers that are here to check it out and see about them making pages for it too, as this would be a large project for just one person to take on. I would love to ask the ladies of the RCS to help in this adventure of mine. I would take great pride in letting folks know that this has been an effort from a special group of ladies, not only our own but also from friends all over the world. It would show this community just how giving scrappers can be, for those that don't know us already...The auction is set for the third week in November. I've already started working on pages for it, and plan to approach the local group of ladies here tomorrow. If there is anyone who would like to help, please let me know via email at snipped-for-privacy@btinternet.com .

Please contact Faye for any specific details. All I know is she's looking for pages.........1 copy of each you would like to donate.......same criteria we have used for the Recipe swap pages. She'll need them by early Nov I believe.

Thanks S

Susan,

Thank you so much for getting this message out for me. Things are still crazy and very busy here. But I was so happy to have this Recipe Book Project idea to take me away and back into scrapping. I had forgotten how much fun it is to create wonderful things. I meet with a small group of ladies here to pitch the Recipe Book to them and worked on several pages then. I had one lady that asked me about teaching them PP's and then said..."Faye, I didn't know you could be so crafty." I have to say thank you to those that have emailed me about donating a page to this cause. I'm looking forward to seeing them all in a book. I must admit that I get the feeling that I'm going to be spending a mint at this auction...but it is for a good cause. Just an update...We are doing the book in 8 1/2 X 11 format and the auction is set for the 3rd week in Nov, so I'll need the pages by then. Please mail them too:

Please write Do Not Bend on the envie so maybe they won't bend it... Thanks again for all of the offers to do a page. Please feel free to email if you have questions. Faye in the UK snipped-for-privacy@btinternet.com snipped-for-privacy@yahoo.com

Faye,

I have 11 pages I will send you that were given to me by someone in this group that held a swap and ended up with extras. I never ended up making a recipe book so I am glad I can donate them to a good cause.

I know I replied to you privately, but I can't wait for you and Lauren to come over and meet Nicholas. If not this weekend, we can always meet up at church now that I am joining where you've been going for years!! : )

See you soon.
