Serger tension problems again

Jan 04, 2004 1 Replies

Seems like whenever I change thread color, my serger stitching is off again. I own a My Lock and all I do is change color. What is the secret for adjusting the tension to get the machine stitching properly again? I use the 3 thread roll stitch mostly, for serging fabric edges prior to sewing.

When you change thread colour, are you also changing brand or size of thread? Are you somehow missing a/some thread guides? Are you threading in the proper order? Is there a chance you're getting lint between the tension discs when you're changing thread? This can really throw out tension.
