Sports Collegiate Font

I see that I am not the only one looking for a sports type font as someone is also looking for one similar for NC college. I am trying to find one similar to Auburn University and am having a hard time finding one close enough to convert. I looked through all the fonts on our computer, but no luck there. I searched the Internet under fonts---there are a LOT of them out there let me tell you! Several sites have the names of the fonts listed, but no example. Does anyone have a suggestion to the name of a sports font or two for those of us hoping to make up some things for our sport fans?

Thank you, Julie

What do you mean by "a sports font"? Uniform numbers and names? Team logo on the front? All of the above ?:)

What does an Auburn University sports type font look like? (Can you point to an image on a website, for example?)

Be glad to help if I knew what it was you're looking for ...

Hi Herb, I just went to Auburn's web site,

and in the middle of their homepage was the type of lettering I was looking for. It is the A & U logo under the "Winter '04 Cummunity Courses". It is also similar to North Carolina's lettering as well. I'm not looking for an EXACT match, although that would be nice, close enough would be great.

Thanks, Julie

What a dumb site (excuse me). Every time you open it you get a different (random) set of images! So *I* never got what *YOU* saw! :)

But I think I found it - Is this it?

fonts that are similar include: Princetown (Bay Animation - a clone of something else) PrincetownD (From URW) One of these can be downloaded from

League Outline (From SWFTE, no longer in business)Rah Rah (From COSMI - already a ripped-off clone)Varsity (From Brøderbund - comes with lots of their pgms)Yearbook Outline (Bayer Corp - Now Agfa) If you want to go to alt.binaries.crafts.pictures OR alt.binaries.fonts, I can attach them all along with their variations (wide, condensed, etc.)

Hi Herb, I am so sorry you have gone to so much effort to help me out. I do appreciate all your help! I went to the gratis fontes site--I should have had my daughter translate for me! However, the Princetown is a close match. I'll work with that for the time being. I had not gone to the alt.binaries sites until you suggested them--lots to see there! Thanks!! Julie
