Glass in grout?

I recently saw some beautiful work where the artist had laid glass and beads into a grout medium instead of metal. Where can I learn how to do this and what are the best online suppliers of colored glass. I have worked as a sculpter but have 0 experience with glass. Her work was framed and the glass was held together with the grout and framed. Is anyone familier with this type work?

It's called mosaic. Look in the yellow pages under "Glass, Stained and Leaded" for a stained glass store. There's nothing worse than having somebody else pick your glass for you when you order online.

Thanks for the replies. Let me try to better explain what I am interested in. This was glass in a frame with a grout filler. You could still see thru the glass. Does anyone know where I can learn more about how to do this?

they already did. it's called mosaic. it can be done on different substrates with different adherents. like glue that dries clear , onto glass, then grouted. get a book! There are many available. m

It might be a process similar to something called dalle de verre. Oversimplified, that's thick glass set in a grout-like resin. Here's the first Google hit:
