masking glass for carving

As a mask for sandblasting glass rather deeply, I have been using 3M masking tape for years (#280-3511). But now they're discontinuing it

- Yikes! It's really thick paper with lots of goo, withstands nearly

1/4-inch of sandblasting with 100-grit silicon carbide before totally degrading, and never lifts during blasting but releases easily when wet. Two questions: Does anyone know where I can get some of this tape (3M doesn't have a clue)? and/or What is everyone else using?

I use white sign vinyl. Double layer it if doing real deep carving.

3M still makes a masking tape that will hold up to most sandblasting, I think it is #3050 (will check on that). It releases well when wet with minimum residue. But I don't know if it will hold up to carving. I never trusted any masking tape to do that, so I haven't tried.
