OTHER USES FOR OXYGEN?

Life support.

Other than running a torch, or supplying a furnace, can anyone come up with another use for a supply of oxygen?

Get yourself a bottle of hydrogen and let the two gases combine in the air, and then light a match. There, now you've got water.

I hear of you have trouble breathing, it can work wonders!

Launch a rocket. Mix with acetylene in a balloon and it can make a loud report.

Most importantly.....an iron oxide provides the magnetic surface on VHS tapes.

well - I'm asthmatic -- sometimes I go sneak a little off my oxygen tank when I'm not feeling well... LOL

LOL - I take it you were being facetious... because the result sure won't be water... (except as a very small byproduct) when you light that match!!!!

can anybody say boom....? Cheryl DRAGON BEADS Flameworked beads and glass

It's a much better "boom" with acetylene, Cheryl. Our chemistry master at school tried it once with very explosive results. The gas jar containing the mixture shattered:-(

aggh -- no kidding......!!!!

guys in my HS chem class made a hydrogen generator - put it in a plastic bag - then lit the stuff.... Chemistry teacher WAS NOT very happy with them..... lucky - nobody got hurt..... but they got detention... LOL Best hydrogen story ever (name's and school location kept secret though I suppose the statute of limitations is run) A nameless young man and friend made hydrogen gas in a college lab. Filled a very very large plastic bag with the stuff... covered bag in tin foil..... added some blinking battery lights (getting the idea yet? LOL) -- and launched said device. Would not have been so bad - except said UFO also contained a self destruct device... and after it floated across some mid-western fields (attracting the anticipated notice...) - the destruct device kicked in - blew it up- and the whole FLAMING mess went down in a farmer's field.... resulting in a small field fire.... ooops.... It's not nice to play practical jokes with explosive gases!!!! Cheryl DRAGON BEADS Flameworked beads and glass
