Alphabetizing Designer names

Aside from the socks that disappear there are those wire coat hangers from the dry cleaners. They go into dark closets, mate and multiply until the closet is a mess.

This reminds me of the "All in the Family" episode where Edith has listed someone under "G" for Gloria's Girlfriend. :-))) It's good to have something else to think about, though. We had to trade in a 4runner (granted, it was 9 years old) for a much cheaper vehicle before doing a bankruptcy last year. On Tuesday, we found out that the "new" car has a blown engine & will cost more to repair than what the car is worth. I've taken this week off as vacation so as not to worry about how to get both of us to & from work and we're looking for a "new" cheap car. Fortunately, I have great sisters, one of whom is lending us the money to get a replacement on the condition that we will keep records of payments but will put their loan at the bottom of our list of bills and only pay them what we can afford. I keep telling myself how thankful I am that it was "only" the car and not DH or I, but it still has me depressed enough not to be stitching this week. Reading my old favorite historical romances has been more of an escape, though (and to bring this back on topic) I do have a copy of "Murder Most Crafty" which has a Betsy Devonshire short story in it. I'm also making brownies tonight for a hike tomorrow. Maybe the combination of licking the bowl tonight and hiking tomorrow will help pick up my spirits. Anyone have an old Subaru (or or other 4WD) wagon that they could get to me by early next week??? :-)) Liz (the whiner) from Humbug

You have earned a whine - so sorry to hear of your pressing problems and I hope everything sorts itself out in a reasonable manner for you. In the meantime, sending good thoughts your way with a hug or two.

I keep a database of all my charts. One of the catagories in the database is 'filed as'. By keeping all the info in the database I can do all kinds of searches and then when I finally find the chart I want to stitch the 'filed as' catagory tells me where the actual chart is located. As far as the actual charts are concerned, some things are filed by designer name or initials such as TW or LTD and some are by catagory such as Christmas, floral or trains etc. The main thing is to make sure I enter the right location into the database. Same here, Liz, you poor thing - just wish I could help in a more concrete fashion. Money worries really get you down. I remember dreading the postman when we were a LOT younger. Not too keen on him even now, at times!

One of the symptoms I have to deal with is that I don't "see" what's right in front of me. If I am absolutely positive that I put that item on the kitchen counter, I've learned to close my eyes and "look with my fingers". About half the time, that's successful.

Now we need to examine the thought, where did they come from ? Are they aliens ?

Paperclips are actually the larval form of coat hangers, which is why you can buy a new box of clips, put them in a drawer and not use any, but six months later the box will be empty. They've all migrated to the closet and become that tangle of hangers on the rod.

So sorry about the car and sorrier that I can't help! I often escape into a book, especially a beloved re-read, when down. One of my favorites is Gigi. I have no clue why, but I do love it!
