My great 'safe place' item is tissue paper. That and little gift boxes. The type you get wrapped around breakables from a store. I almost always save it, and put it in a 'safe place'. However, I can't ever seem to find it when I need it. When I moved, as I dismantled my closets, I kept finding little stashes of tissue paper tucked away carefully. I had enough to pack most of my breakables. Unfortunately the little gift boxes weren't as useful.
I had to haul several things out of the storage room the other day, and I'm doing it again! Little stashes of tissue paper tucked carefully away where I'd never think to look. You should be proud of me. I forced myself to throw out a 3x1x4' box of wrapping materials. It was touch and go though. Dora

Growing up we had an underwear eating dog. And yes, she preferred used underwear. Caused my then teenaged brother considerable embarrassment on one or two occasions by grabbing up discarded underwear from his bedroom floor and parading this "trophy" through the living room and assembled guests in order to find a spot to lie down for a thorough chew. And here I was thinking the wire coathanger is becoming an endangered species. I tried to help a former student break into his car on Friday, and we did have to search some before finding anyplace in the strip mall where this happened that had wire coathangers. Dawne

What better way to "train" a teen to either pick up the dirty laundry off of the floor or to close the bedroom door? :-))))) Liz from Humbug
One of my cats is a sock cat. Actually if can be any piece of clothing I leave lying on the floor. He doesn't eat them so much as drags them from wherever he finds them into the living room and then proceeds to bury his face in them. Now he doesn't drag my shoes, but any leather shoes I leave in the living room will soon find themselves covered by a cat with his face stuffed in as far as it will go.

I'm the Queen of Safe Places! I put a thing in a Safe Place and promptly forget where that is...but at least I know it's SAFE! I confiscated DD's cell phone for an infraction and she discovered my last safe place so I had to find a new one and I'm terrified I'll lose her phone! (Well,
*that* would teach her a lesson, wouldn't it?? LOL!)Sue
Phones are easy to find ... call them, and they ring.
Not if the phone is turned off or the battery is dead! LOL

Karen C - California had some very interesting things to say about Re: Alphabetizing Designer names:
As a colleague reminded me on one occasion, when my newly acquired phone could not be found (another colleague spotted it, it had fallen off my desk and managed to land under an overhanging surface in such a way that I could not see it while standing, but she could while seated nearby). :-)
We learned that trick when we got our cordless phone. I generally had the handset on the coffee table, but *he* could have it anywhere inside OR outside the house. "I'm going down to the corner phone booth, don't answer, just find the d**n thing!"
LOL - we have two sock cats! The problem is that they strew them through the house and put holes in them from playing with them. Kim
