any needlepoint cruises?

Aside from the Kaffee Fassett cruise in January 2006, does anyone know of any needlepoint cruises coming up?

TIA.

You might contact your travel agent and/or the cruise lines directly. Although not officially "needlepoint emphasis", I have seen quite a bit of needlepoint done on every trip I've taken on the QE2 (Cunard). It seems that every afternoon people with their tote bags of needlework, knitting, tatting, and lap quilting turn up on the Upper Deck to sit and stitch and chat. There is a lovely open lounge area with great natural light and view of the ocean. I always take a lap quilting project with me, and am in fact getting a new project ready for a 16 day trip I have booked on the QE2 this October! When you read a book on a ship people tend to walk on by, but when you have needlework they stop to chat, and it's a lovely way to meet people!

I don't believe this is a needlepoint specific cruise, but it may be worth the time to drop an email or call for the details.

It's a great group of ladies at the shop and Iknow that some of them do needlepoint. They tricked me into trying it bycalling it "counted thread work". :)HTH, Jarvis

I always thought it would be fun to pack up a stack of books and a pile of stitching and take a freightorl somewhere. I read a book recently called "Outlaw Seas", though and it doesn't make it seem quite so inviting. I would really have to check into the safety of the ship and crew and not go anywhere where piracy is likely. I still like the idea, though. Liz from Humbug
