ATCs - anybody else?

Anybody else doing the EAC's ATC exchange? I worked on three cards this morning. I used bits of stitching (a kit and a JCS ornament which I hadn't ever actually finished into an ornament), I had in my stash for two of them. I'm going to add some more bits to these once I figure what what I want to do. For the third I used machine lace 'laced' onto the backing with an overdyed knitting fiber (I used a stem stitch following the curves of the lace). I added beads at the end. I'm going to do another two like this one to make a series. Once they are completely finished I'll post pics on RCTNP.

I have been tempted by doing one of these swaps many times. I want to just try doing a few to share with good friends.

EAC is the Embroiderer's Association of Canada, and ATCs are Artist Trading Cards. EAC is doing an exchange of the cards. They did one last year, too. You get one card back for every one you submit.

I thought I would make about 3 yesterday, but I ended up making five and have ideas for at least five more. Once you get started doing them they are addictive. I'm using up bits of stitching already completed, and doing some from scratch. I'm using a variety of backings (to make them stiff).

Here's a link to give you an idea

That could be fun. Anybody want to volunteer to be the organizer?

Yes, but I don't know if I have time to join in!

They are very quick to do. I did five of them yesterday and today, and already have the backing for five more cut out. They can be as simple or as elaborate as you like. I've used plastic canvas for three, heavy felt for two more. I stitched lace onto the plastic canvas following the curves of the lace with heavy silk. I'm going to post them (eventually) on RCTNP

I'm going to try and do the second group in the next week or so, since I want to try a little more complex ones.
