Cow pattern in Debbie Bliss' Toy Knits

Has anyone made the cow from Debbie Bliss' Toy Knits? Chart 1 on page

53 seems to be half missing. I have contacted both the publisher and Ms. Bliss' web master and haven't had a reply yet.

Any help is appreciated.

Thx, AnnDS

Just to say I looked and half the chart is missing in my copy too. So you're not the only one. I haven't made that pattern though. I made the bunny which is in my finished objects album

the chart is of a spot on the side of a cow. I would estimatethe number of rows covered by the chart and make up my own spot basedon that.

Thanks, Dora. Yep, since it's just a cow spot I went ahead and drew the rest of the chart myself, but I'm a tad miffed that neither the publisher nor Debbie Bliss' webmaster has contacted me to at least say they'd look into it.

I'll keep checking errata pages to see if they ever fill in the blanks.

Thanks again for your reply,

AnnDS

I like her as a designer, but I've found several errors in her patterns, and I haven't made that many. Plus she writes (practically) everything as a flat needle pattern when they would be so much better worked circularly with dp needles.

Boy, this is my day for getting after designers, isn't it? Dora

I was going to try my hand at designing. I have insomnia. You'll see regular 3am posts from me. :-) The other day I didn't get to sleep until

8am. I took a nap until 1pm and woke up with a gorgeous pattern in my head (there goes any more chance of sleep). I had to get up and draw it! Mostly blackstitch and colonial knots. I can't wait to try it. If it is successful I'll post. I'll try to not be too sensitive. :-)

Oh well, don't worry. I'm too polite for my own good, with a few notable exceptions.

You'll notice I wasn't criticizing her concept or overall design, but the way in which she communicated the design. She seems to have a lot of trouble with charts, simple things like ensuring repeats add up to the right number of stitches. The cow blob chart is a simple case of poor proofing. Maybe the problem is more with the publisher.

See, I'm already mellowing. Dora
