EGA "Do" in Hotlanta

Hi Guys, Would someone be so kind as to post the pertinent info for the EGA Seminar that is being held here in Hotlanta in the not too distant future? I got an e-mail from The Karen telling be about someone who needs a roommate. Now, I don't belong to EGA so I won't be attending the seminars but I would like to go if they are having a market similar to CATS. Also, I do have a spare room (that **desperately** needs tidying) and I would be happy to let someone I know (from online OR who has a recommendation from someone I know) stay here. Only problem might be traveling to/from the seminar site. Staying here would mean renting a car and it might not even be feasible if the site is a bazillion miles away! Then again, renting a car, staying here and driving to the site might be cheaper than paying for a single room! ciaoMeow >^;;^<

FYI 1 -- there's a 'commuter' fee if someone doesn't stay at the hotel.

FYI 2 -- there's going to be a merchandise night on Tuesday, Sept 6. I don't have a clue if this is open to non-EGA members but will ask.

Click on "Seminar 2005 Brochure." You do nothave to be a member of EGA to view the Exhibit or enjoy any of the 3main shopping experiences at seminar:Previously, a local shop was invited to run the boutique at EGAseminars, but this year will be different. Barbara Jackson (TristanBrooks Designs) is running the shop as she does for ANG & Callaway. Itwill be spectacular. Think threads! Ruth Kern runs the bookstore. This is a do-not-miss event for needlework book lovers. All the newest releases are available on all sorts of techniques. There are also some out-of-print books, too.

Both shops are open every day of seminar (usually closed evenings) and usually close after lunch on the last Friday of Seminar.

Merchandise Night is a feeding frenzy on Tuesday night, Sept 6. Folks can rent a table to sell anything needlework related, as no sales are permitted outside of Merchandise Night. Bring a shopping bag for your purchases and Cash, as most vendors aren't prepared to accept credit cards.

Absolutedly. They bring an amazing assortment of threads. A lot of which are from suppliers that many shops don't carry in quantity. And she usually has some gadgets and jewelry for stitchers that aren't commonly seen. Great opportunity to splurge, er, fill up any needs for thread.

Too true. And she also carries all needlework related fun reading - of the fiction variety.

Sounds like the shopping experience at the ANG seminars! If it's similar, shopping in the bookstore, and the boutique is least crowded when folks are in classes - like mid afternoon, or mid-morning. And not the first day they're open.

HAve fun to those who get to go,
