Heck, those cute little satin stitched flowers are the reason I bought two of the most uncomfortable panties I have ever owned.

Why do you suppose they refer to them as 'pairs' of panties ? I know there are two leg holes, but equally there are two arm holes in a shirt or sweater, and they aren't referred to as 'pairs' !

Boy oh boy--You must be bored to tears. I hope someone can come up with an answer to this one quick !!!

Yes, it's the awful stink starting again, at least it is not so noisy as the taking up part. I resolved that I would 'stay away from ebay' today - these days pinned in the house are costing me too much!

I did finish sewing up the crewel cushion though and maybe later today will take a decent pic and put it up on rctnp.

So why are they 'pairs' ???? I need to know !!!

Could it be because pantalettes were originally two legs buttoned together front and back so all you had to do was squat?!?!?

Very interesting, I didn't realise they came like that. Maybe since it says they had needlework on them, we all ought to make and wear some ? Could they be worse than Cheryl's ?

I doubt it! noticed the elastic casing is starting to unravel on one set. Gee, what a shame.

I would think that would depend on exactly where the buttons are !!!

That could be such a straight line...

Could be how a certain piece of female physiognomy got one of it's many nicknames.

It wasn't bad enough that I was trying to find an answer to the important question of why it's a pair of panties, now I need to find out how that particular spot got its name in the first place. The biggest problem now is how do you word that question on google ?? lol

Had a girlfriend who was really keen on embroideirng things. She'd done all the towels, linen and regular stuff but was still looking for more (this was before she fortuitously spawned a couple of girls). Her husband alsmost shreiked in horror the day he discovered she'd embroidered HIS underpants with bullion roses!

I worked in a fabric shop for a bit and the lady I worked for would always say 'pass me a scissor, will you?' - it just grated on me when she said that. Does anyone say scissor and not scissors? One blade of the scissors wouldn't do anyone any good - just like one leg of a pair of panties wouldn't. Words are funny and interesting.
