You're obviously a lot younger than I am. They wouldn't have known pizza in school, and although there were pizza joints in the neighborhood I lived in I doubt anyone that wasn't Italian thought of it as real food. Back then we considered it a snack and now I practically live on it. I'm also fairly sure that no one had a clue that such a thing as refrigerated biscuits were in our future as something we would have readily available.
It's encouraging to hear that at least in one area they went forward and stopped trying to make us like things like broiled cucumbers or my perfectly awful tuna dish.
