Two old sweater ,,,,,,,,

Those 2 old sweaters , have been warming me inmany winters,, one red one mustrad with a petrol stripe, that lay over my shoulders and hugged my Heart .... One knit one crochet ... But now i am a bit fuller. The knit one was by mistake thrown into the washing machine with towels ,,, [OOOOOOOch] ,,,,so here they are I hug them , my eyes seeing the times i made them, The red one i knitted just as we returned home from 2 years in Manchester UK .. It was deffinitly colder and more rainier in UK , but houses were better warmed. Coming home to our Condominion , with the Wind swept entrance ... made me run to the shop and knit ME a nice red warm hugging sweater..... The mustard Crochet Tunic sweater was a Work of art , it lso got a skirt to match ,,, wore it years in pleasure and pride ... Now i will recycle them into something else ... Thank you Sweaters for taking care of me ... you are part of my life`s knitted joy and crocheted fun. mirjam ....

Mirjam, before you recycle your sweaters, how about posting some pics of them so we can all enjoy them with you?

Hi Mirjam,

Thanks for that lovely story. I don't know if I can recycle my two old sweaters yet or not. The first one I knit on circular needles and the last one my Mom made me. Maybe someday, but not yet.

Hugs,

Your twin,

Nora

Mirjam, that is so sweet! I have a couple of sweaters that I cannot bear to part with. One is a grey & black tweed-look cardigan that was my Dad's, and the other is a beige cardigan that was my Aunt Blanche's which she gave to my Mom who wore it until she passed away. Both sweaters mean so much to me, and I snuggle in them when I'm sad or lonely, and of course when I'm a little chilly too.

I also have a memory of a sweater that I LOVED that my Mom had bought me when I was about 10 years old. It *looked* mauve, but was actually knit with blue & pink yarn together. I believe it was mohair, or something like that, because I remember it being very fuzzy and fluffy. Unfortunately one day it was mixed in with other clothes and ended up in the washer and drier... and it shrunk... so it was passed on to someone else to wear, but I still have my memory of it.
