What fun that is to watch. I can imagine doing something like that. I often look at my dog's long white hair and think what a wonderful, soft, angora like collar I could knit with it.

I hate to admit it but I actually watched the darn thing twice and I don't knit. Obsessed or posessed - hmmmmmmmm.

Middle dd learned to spin recently, and she's been using our golden's fluffy undercoat (which he has in abundance) as her fleece. Eventually she plans to knit a hat with it.

I knew someone that had the hair from their standard poodle saved, spun into yarn, and then knitted it sweater. It was really nice.

There are actually more people who do this. When their dog needs a shave, they collect the hair, spin it into yarn and knit it.

Have heard the same from a lady with a Golden Retriever.

Have forgotten where, but I know you also can purchase sweaters made from dogs hair. The only thing I wonder about, does it still cause allergies for those effected?

My Maltese is one of the least likely to cause an allergic reaction because they have a single coat of hair, just like people. And it grows just about as fast.
