Ok - designers you admire

Currently high on my list: Ink Circles: Alessandra Adelaide Needleworks

Some stuff from Country Garden Stitchery, but by no means all of it. Who Knew? Has several pieces I covet. If I ever manage to find steady part time work, I'm kitting up several of them. And I don't generally do "fantasy"

I have many of Ladybug Lanes charts. Lots of Elizabeth's Designs, but I really prefer her older pieces Ditto for Birds of Feather, but every so often one of her new pieces catch my eye Liberty Street.

I do lots of flowers and bugs, whimsical and realistic.

I am currently really drawn to geometrical designs or "knot work" pieces.

BOAF no longer does XS, only needlepoint, I understand. I love their stuff though!

As you all know. XS isn't always highest on my list of things to do. And I have been doing a lot of canvas work. I really like a lot of Laura Perin's stuff. Nancy Coffelt is fun and whimsical (plus she has lots of penguins :))

Urban Threads has some really edgy stuff. They also have a "Mr." series that I want to do as a baby quilt one day. You can get their stuff as hand stitching or machine embroidery.

Tam's Creations has some nice blackwork.

If I feel kitschy, I like some of the Cranberry Cove Christmas stuff.

Love the topic! Can't wait to find some new designers to go ga-ga over. The few LNS's that remain in existence here have decades old models on the walls and lots of holiday themed works. Not a lot of inspiration can be had anymore from browsing the walls, so unless someone in RCTN raves a designer up, I've been mostly at a loss.

As I said in the TW thread, she's always been tops for me for the challenge. Not into the fantasy aspect, but stitch them anyway just for something to "do". I like her fruit patterns and bell pulls as well as her Christmas themed charts best.

I really, really like stitching art reproductions, but most of the quality patterns are so expensive and they're just not in my budget at the moment so they're all relegated to to my wish list. I keep putting them on my Christmas list each year, but nobody seems to think they're "good" presents. If I ever win the lottery, I know just which ones I'm going to get.

Recently I've been drawn to the Victoria Sampler and Drawn Thread, but haven't stitched anything by either yet.

Also really drawn to celtic knotwork and similar geometrical designs as well, Cheryl. There were a couple Ink Cirlces patterns I just saw in the NN catalog that jumped out at me as well. I'm going to have to check them out further when I get the chance.

Formerly into MLI, P Buckley Moss (have them all), Diane Graebner, and Paula Vaughan. We're going way back, here.

Not really into whimiscal stuff, "country", or realistic animals, but I do like stitching realistic birds on silk gauze. Don't ask me why -- I absolutely *hate* birds in real life. Must be that challenge thing again.

Yep, that's pretty much my list.

I wonder if MLI is still designing - haven't seen anything new from her in quite a while. I especially loved her earlier patterns and have lots in my stash.

Hmm....a great new topic. WO a local LNS for xs hopefully I'll get some new ideas to search for online.

Buried in the stash are some DeGrazia designs adapted for xs. Moira Blackburn has lots I've lusted. Linda Myers used to be a big one until I decided I'd done enough. Every time I see a new Diane Graebner I think I need to have that one, especially if it has cardinals in it.

Some of Little House Needleworks catch my eye as well as Cedar Hill and Valerie Pfeiffer and Praiseworthy Stitches.

I do lust after some of Laura Perin's designs (as long as they aren't too "quilty").

I go for birds, books/music/hymns, places I've lived and visited. And thanks to you Cheryl, now Celtic knots are catching my eye.

My current favorites are My Big Toe Designs and Blue Ribbon Designs. I think the last MLI release was Fallen Roses. I started it and have about 1/3 completed. It is a nice design. Cheryl, I like your top two designers. I haven't purchased an Alessandra Adelaide Needleworks but really like the latest release which is a large ornament. I think I saw it on ABCStitch.

If you like geometrical designs, check out the Fractals.

I *really* like the fractals but have absolutely nowhere to put them if I did them, so I have resisted. The other thing that helps in the resistance is I can't decide which I like the best, so don't get any! There's something about those intense colors, though........

Good name for the new "folly", Fred, but in view of the stories you spin here from time to time, shouldn't that be "Sawdust and Yarns"???

JoAnn's has an all-over penguin fabric that's pretty nice. I just checked their site and it's on sale right now!
