What are you currently working on?

I know there are a number going to the barn and have been working on their

6x6 pages. What is everyone else working on? What do you want to start?

I have finished a mini wedding album for my ex-husband and his new wife. (yes I know very odd! LOL But she is such a nice person I wanted to do something.) I recieved pictures of the back yard wedding via email and was suprised the wedding had been moved up 6 months. I was unsure of the type of gift to send them. DH said, "you are the Violia of scrapbooking, what about a scrapbook?" (does anyone remember the TV show "Momma's Family? And Violia covering the world in crochet? ROFL) So I did a little book for them, I am please at how nicely it turned out considering what I had to work with and I was unsure of her colors. When I get my photo editing software reinstalled I'll scan it and post it.

I have also made 20 cards in the last 2 days. 15 for a friend, and 5 to put away for future gift baskets.

I want to make our Easter cards (I've taken pictures of the rabbit and they are printed) and I have a bunch of LO's to make. I haven't had the pictures we took in Dallas printed yet, so that will add another small album to make, as well as a couple of LO's. DS #1 has also gone through the pictures he took in Guatamala and asked me to make him an album. (that and he called ME

3 times while he was gone for 10 days! He does love me! LOL) Sheesh, I need another vacation! (sure hated to go back to work Tuesday being off 12 days was reeaally nice!) I believe that's it for now.......but am planning things for Christmas already! It's not too soon to start planning ya know.

I'm currently working on my pages for our cat, Muffy, whom we just lost. I've done one but want to make it at least a double page spread. I'm including Duke, the male cat we lost 5 years ago, too.

Right now, though, I'm painting my bathroom and that is taking precident.

Well, I am working on my 6x6 swap pages, my 6x6 coverpage,a design for baby shower invitations, getting layouts pre-staged for the barn trip. I have been collecting supplies for my wedding album and honeymoon album. I would like to start those by June but I want to finish my Canada trip album (only a few more pages left) first.

Kenda,

It sounds like you are very busy!

I am not too well at the moment so I cannot do much physically but I am doing all my planning in my head! I would like to do at least one layout by the end of April - this would be my most labour-intensive layout so far, I think. I have some stunning photos from Malaysia where we spent a few days on a beach three years ago. The colours in these photos are very intense and rich so I would like to showcase them. I would also like to have a go at an arty collage-style layout with a lot of embellisments and little bits and pieces everywhere... I know that the collages can be quite difficult to get right... hence all the planning in my head...

I am working on a recipe album, an album for my niece for graduation (next year so I'm taking my time) and trying to keep current.

I havent been doing much crafting at all in the past couple of weeks. Its been hectic at work lately. We are doing a major remodel, and the extra cleaning that goes along with it...ugh..is driving me nuts! My DS #2 (the athletic one) is involved in his grade schools' Physical Education 4th Grade Olympics this week, and I have gone in to work early, so I can get off early to attend and of course take pictures! I have been keeping in mind the kind of pics to take for scrapbook layouts! LOL I am bad...Gonna have to find some Pink Panther stuff at a LSS to go with it..Their team is the Pink Panthers, as their theme for the event is cartoon characters..they have so much fun! So far he has won two events,Obstacle course, and Arm Wrestling (YAY!) and got 2nd in the other, situps..he did 49 in one minute!! (I'm so darn proud of him! *G*) I will repost final results when I get back! Day three is today. As soon as he gets done with that, me and the boys are heading to Rock Island, Illinois for the weekend, for a state bowling tournament that DS#1 is competing in. DH couldnt get off work early Friday so he will be staying home. I will be gone from here til Monday Things I am planning to do....I am hoping to get all pics printed off, so I can get together page kits for the Barn when I am on vacation for the week after Easter! I want to get some more cards made, and play with some of my new stuff from Ronni and Dave! Yeah, its gonna be a LINDA vacation that week!!!

Kenda, I dont think its weird at all about doing that wedding album. I have a pretty good friendly relationship with my DH's Ex. It sure makes it a lot easier in the long run! Good for you! :-)

RJ, did I hear you say a surprise is in the works!? oh gooodie!! **clapping hands** I love surprises!! I have most of your stuff ready, waiting on one more thing(s). hehe! Gotta run and get packing! I could stay on here all day talking to you all! lol

cya all Monday! Linda

I work at a community college (on the support staff in the math department) and am taking two days off next week because it's spring break. (No, the support staff and managers don't get spring break and summers off as a lot of people think. :-) ) So I'm lining up things to work on during my four days.

  1. Finish a paperbag album for a friend who has a birthday this month.
  2. Start a paperbag album for a friend who has a May birthday. (I love giving paperbag albums as gifts!)
  3. Finish my "All About Us" book. I made up a questionnaire for my friends (favorite color, favorite movie, favorite scripture, etc.) and put the answers and photo of each in a matchbook style album. I just have to come up with a clever cover idea.
  4. I've been printing out pictures (I do digital photography) and picking out paper to catch up with my single friends' get togethers and birthday celebrations books.
  5. DIY Scrapbooking had a show last week that included a segment on all the ways you could use a holly stamp to create water, palm trees, Christmas trees, pointsettias, and the flames of a fire. I'm going to play around with my holly stamp and see if I can come up with additional ideas.

Whew! That's a lot, but I'm going to have so much *fun*!

You're making me look bad Kenda! LOL I haven't even started my 6 x 6 pages for the Barn. I had planned on starting them today, but got sidetracked with house-buying stuff. Always another paper to sign! LOL I was beginning to believe I wouldn't be able to start them, but the Bible study for tonight has been cancelled so guess what I'm doing tonight! I told DH last night I wanted to just scrap today. It hasn't happened.

So I'm starting my 6 x 6 barn pages tonight (or this afternoon after I finish with the newsgroup). I also need to get started on 3 teacher paper bag albums for the kids' teachers. I bought enough bags to make a "my students" themed album for each of the teachers, but I'm wondering if I shouldn't just go with a "My teacher" themed album. Any suggestions? The kids won't be going to this school next year, because we won't be in that elementary zone. So these 3 teachers are even extra special. I just don't know which to do! Better decide though! LOL

I also need to get started on my sisters albums for myself, sis, and SIL. That's a Christmas present. But as Kenda points out, it's never too early to start!

Of course, I also want to make a 6 x 6 album about our new house. But that won't be started until after we move in. Whew!

I need to get some cards made, too. I have a nifty card organizer now, just need to finish the inserts to make the different sections.

I'm still very behind on my scrapping goals. Notice my count hasn't changed???? LOL

I have a pet book started. I plan to eventually include all the pets we've had over the years. I sure helps with the grieving process.

I would love to see the pages you do for the Malaysia photos. DS #1 took some beautiful pictures of Guatamala and I am stumped as to how to do the LO's. I am waiting until he gets all the pictures from his friends that he wants then I plan to have all of them printed out and think that will help me. I wish I could plan in my head like you and M-C! I have to actually have stuff in front of me then I can get right to work.....

You sound busy Angie! I love the idea of the "All about Us" matchbook style album. I hope you can post pictures when you are done, I'd love to see one!

Ah now Deb, I don't see how I can make you look bad Deb! You get an awful lot accomplished inspite of all that you have going on!

I did finish my inserts for my nifty card orginizer! (sticking my tongue out and singing "Nanny, nanny booboo!" ) Though I want to make a few more cards to put it in to round out my selections.

I guess I'll have to learn how to upload photos. Something new for my "to do" list. :-)

The matchbook style album was part of the Pinecone Press book club inspiration kit we got in February. Actually, the pages were pretty simple to do, but my friends who are part of the book, have really enjoyed looking at it. And I had fun making it.
