What will you be working on after the Holidays?

I was asked this yesterday via email and thought it would make a good discussion here. So, what scrapbooking project will you be working on after the holidays? Will you continue an unfinished album or will you start a new one? My main project will be my parent's ministry memory album, but I know I'll also be working on DD's & DS's albums along with my cat's album. Oh and it would be nice if I could start a BOM. A 2003 album would be good to start too. Of course, I still have wedding pictures to do something with, too! LOL Hmm....I'm thinking I have a lot of grandios plans and not sure how I'm going to do them all!

You know Kenda and I have also been wanting to do a BOM. Perhaps that is something we can work on when we meet up!

I know what I should work on, my school years album. I set a goal to have it done by the next reunion. Well that'll be in June and I've done maybe three more pages in it since setting the goal three yrs ago. Just been doing other stuff instead.

My baby is due in January so I will probably be working on his album and on layouts of his big brothers and sisters!

My Mom is arriving from England on Jan 6th too and I want to take pictures of her with each of my children to do special layouts - I wasn't a scrapbooker when I lived in England so don't have pictures like that and we haven't seen her for over 2 years so it will be a nice way to celebrate the new year, new baby and my Moms first trip to Canada!

Hopefully I will have two new projects for the new year. My parent's church will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary next year and my dad has asked me to do an album about the church. Also a friend has asked me to do an album of his family pictures, providing he gets them all sorted!

And then there are the pictures from our Thanksgiving trip to New York, the Christmas pictures and all the other ones I have been saving since I started working on these massive Christmas gift albums for my family. So much to scrap and so little time to do it!

I'm thinking of doing a hometown album. I live in the same small rural community my mother and grandmother were born in. I'd like to do it from a 'then-to-now' perspective - showing it as it was when my grandmother was small thru my mother to me and possibly even on to my children - something for my children and grandchildren to see their 'roots'. A tall order, huh? I also need to help DD finish her 5th grade album before she finished the

6th grade this year. Sandy in Southern Indiana

Complete the journaling in both my Desert Storm albums. I also just started my "work" album and so going to collect all the pictures I have from trips over past 5 YEARS.

Then I have to get some pictures of my brother restored (if possible) and get his pages done (have about 50 pix - NO, NOT ALL of them need help! LOL!)

Then I have thought about my home and pets album and at this point Molly's pictures are being thought of too.

Oh, heck with all that DREAMIN, I will just go shop for more PAPER to consider using for ALL those tasks, err, projected crafted dreams!!!

LOL!

259 for 04, 14mini albums with 28 pages ea, 1 swap

I will be doing a few weddings and more of my own things. I have put it aside to work on gifts lately.

& see if there's anything from your town there. I'm constantly checking for new photos from the town in PA where my grandparents came from to see if I can (a) find photos of anyone in the family (found my great uncle recently) & (b) find old photos of the town to use in my family album.

That's a great idea Sandy! Even if your children move away, it'll be nice for them to be able to see where 3 generations all came from and how the town changed. Great idea for future generations!

What a great idea! I moved to a small town when I was about 15 and it is definitely a whole different world. I wasn't use to people knowing me, knowing where I lived, knowing my phone number when I didn't know them. Walking by the local photo studio and knowing everyone in the photos displayed as examples of their work. Things have changed a lot up there. It would have been nice to have done a then to now album.

Jane, How nice that your Mom is coming to see you!! That will make several albums LOL. I have so much unfinised work that I won't be doing anything new. Also I will have Christmas pix to deal with.

Oh that's a good idea! That way we would know ahead of time what we would be working on. Of course, that also means I actually have to DO a BOM now!! LOL

maybe we can make it a group effort... we can post a topic each month and all add it to a BOM.

I have 2 grand-daughters, a 5 yr old and a 4 month old, and I'm trying to stay current with their albums. Hopefully, I'll have finished my daughter Jennifer's first album by Christmas, but there's a lot more of her life yet to go....and then I need to start on my other daughter's album BUT.....

My dad has a lot of pictures from his time in the military and after he was wounded in Korea and sent to Japan and then Hines hospital. He's paraplegic but had planned to be a lifer before getting hit. I'd like to sit down with him and get the facts and his memories surrounding the pictures for journaling. Dad is a true hero in my book, and I'd like to save that piece of history for my family.

It has occurred to me lately that I need to do that with all the pictures my folks have from before I was born, while there's still time as they are in their 70's. My kids and grandkids have tons of pictures and while I still want to keep up with the little ones albums, perhaps I need to stop putting off the project with my folks. It will also be a great way to spend time with them this winter. janetlee

There is a BOM on the website under Challenges. Perhaps we can all just start on week one after the holidays!

Sounds like a greyat idea, Janetlee! One of the things I regret is that there is no one to tell me who is in the pictures /i inherited from my grandmother.
