I found a great buy for fifty cents at our local thrift store today. They have a bin where you can pick up odd balls of wool or craft stuff that people have donated. I bought a round tablecloth that had a stamped cross stitch design and the design is called Blue Phlox. Someone had completed half of it and the workmanship was very good. It was in a bag with a hoop and instructions but no floss. The pattern called for 6 different Galaxy floss and the pattern gave numbers/colors for this floss .
I got out the DMC floss with the same numbers and although the color names seem to match, I don't think the person who originally did the work used those colors. I am going to have to try to match the completed part with my DMC stash.
Has anyone used this Galaxy floss or know anything about it? The kit looks to be from the sixties and I would like to finish it once I can figure out what colors were used.
Last month, I got a Dimensions cross stitch kit for two dollars that had never been opened.
