Bates Floss

I have an old Cross Stitch Pattern that lists the floss colors for DMC and "Bates" Floss.

I have no idea if Bates Floss is still made or if it is known by another name. Can anyone help me??

Bates rings a bell from eons back. Go with DMC, at least that is safe, even though Walmart has discontinued it!

This new Christmas Ball has color and is all set for a good time. It is taken from a Mardi Gras Mask. Thus, you have the Mardi Gras colors of Gold, Green and Purple. It is stitched on 24 white Congress cloth. Four colors of Splendor are used, 2 colors of Anchor Bates floss along with Coronet Braid #4, #8, and #16. Petite Frosty Rays makes the ruffle white

4 colors of Petite Treasure Braid are used for the background, unseen in photograph. Ribbon Floss makes the heart shaped mouth.
