When you have a problem with an URL that is not all highlighted just cut and paste the end portion with the original link and it will work fine.

I did, but it still wouldn't work - I think because at the google site the links show up with ellipses

If you're really curious about a site, copy the long or mangled URL into a text editor, remove any garbage and line breaks, copy the result, and finally paste it into your browser.

About nine tenths of the time, it suffices to copy the broken-off bit, then click on the stub. You'll get an error message with the partial URL in the box, and can paste the end onto it.

Another trick: put the cursor at the end of a faulty URL and backspace until what's left ends with a slash; more often than not, you'll get a page from which you can navigate to the desired page. If you get a "forbidden" message, cut off another segment.

Who said "there's more than one way to skin a cat?"

If I follow a link from a message and if I like what I've seen, I almost always use the cut away method to go to the root (home) page.

Shall we start a new thread about what stitching web sites *must* have?
