Those who know of Elisa Ricci as the author of ?Old Italian Lace? from the early twentieth century might be interested to know that now three of her many publications have been reprinted (**in Italian!**). Last year was Ricami Italiani (title translation: Italian Embroideries) and this year both Antiche Trini Italiani - Trine ad ago (trans.: Old Italian Needle Lace, but the Italian version) and Antiche Trine Italiane
- Trine a fuselli (trans: Old Italian Bobbin Lace). All three of these volumes have had Indexes added to the reprints which are indispensable if you're a researcher! These are *NOT* how-to manuals!!

All of these volumes are in black and white and are in fact facsimile reprints of the originals with the indexes added.
THESE TEXTS ARE ALL IN ITALIAN. I want to stress that as I don't want you to be misled. :-))
Saying that however, they are PACKED with photos of rare and beautiful works. Elisa Ricci was an expert in the field and there are/were no other texts which catalogue this much Italian work. Then or now. They remain just as valid today as when she wrote them.

The bobbin lace book was just released today, so I couldn't find it in the catalogue but give them a couple of days. I am not aware of a North American distributor yet but you could always inquire at your favourite needlework bookseller!
