Congratulations! How funny she still has cravings, even after the birth.

Not so funny Jere, Ayako was in labor for more than 50 hours, as she would have contractions and then stop. Her water broke over 36 hours before. DS Chris said if hospital food was bad, Japanese hospital food was the worst. According to DS Chris and DD Sarah, Japanese pizza is nothing like what we get here. Chris would bring pizza from the Naval Air Base for Ayako. As they are 5 hours away it isn't possible for Chris to get her one.

I hope to get picture by tomorrow .

I do recall being starving after I delivered each of my children. DH thought he was going to share my lunch so he wouldn't have to go out -- ha! I don't miss a meal, even for childbirth....

I was ravenous after DS - ate two "lunches" that they keep in the labor ward frig and ate a huge breakfast and wanted to send DH out for an bacon, egg and cheese sandwich by 9 AM.

After DD, I wasn't nearly so hungry, but I was in tough shape and was pumped full of pain meds and replacement fluids.

I figure hungry is a good sign! LOL

Yup. One of the delightful things about being at home is that you get to eat what you want throughout and you've got a whole kitchen full of whatever you want when you're done ;-) I was ravenous all three times.

I had my middle child at home, best of three deliveries despite the fact she was a facial presentation. My husband was away in the navy and I had nowhere to leave the 2 1/4 year old, so it was a great solution.

My congratulations bounced, because I pressed the wrong button, but I mean them, anyway. Long and happy lives to all.

I know what Aya went through, because the same thing happened to me, but ended in a Caesarian after 36 hours. I'm glad she didn't have that - it makes you feel you've had the worst of both methods!

Yeah, those long labors can take the stuffing out of you. My two short labors were much easier to recover from than my long one! I thought it was odd, though, to go from a "prolonged labor" to a "precipitate labor"! I figured that after having a 45 hour labor the first time, it was a pretty sure bet the second would be faster, but I sure as heck wasn't prepared for it to be 43 hours faster! ;-)

No kidding. I was blessed and didn't end up with a c-section despite the long labor, but I have a friend who ended up with an episiotomy *and* a c-section scar from the same birth. I think that's just really, really unfair.
