August 2006 has arrived !

Well, at least my paper-pieced block from our BOM back then has arrived at my Webshots album. I might work on September today.

This coming week I want to work on some other projects. I've got a feathered star to try, and I need to make a wall hanging due in April for a guild challenge.

I've really got three more weeks of vacation left, but one entire week will be spent in a literacy workshop. It's close to home so I don't think I'll be terribly pooped at the end of each day. But I won't count on that time for getting anything done. I'll consider any personal accomplishments to be a bonus!

I love the butterfly quilt. Are the single blocks yours? Where did you find the pattern and what is it called? It is just beautiful. Can't wait to see your interpretation of the quilt.

Thank you!!

The single blocks are mine. I put the butterfly block into EQ rather than using templates. Luckily I wrote a bunch of info on the EQ notecard.

I saw the quilt someone made pictured in Quiltmaker Early Spring 1992 p. 38.

The pattern is in Quiltmaker Early Spring 1990 No. 18. I think it is called Winged Beauty. Right now I don't know where the magazine is, so I don't know what page the pattern is on.

Each block has 11 different fabrics, then also the black for the body and the white for the background. It's so easy to use small scraps to make the butterflies.

I have no plans for finishing it soon. If I'm tired of working on a current project, I make a butterfly for funnsies. I have 6 and I need 48!
