It is getting close to when the final block is released and construction time begins. Before I pass the torch on to next year's BOM keeper, I wanted to add a little extra special surprise to inspire us all to finish our BOM quilts (or at LEAST the tops). When I have the pics gallery up and running with all the completed quilts (I'll accept pics of completed quilt tops too), in addition to all the oohing and ahhing everyone on RCTQ will be doing, I think we should have a little awards ceremony as well to celebrate this first ever BOM. To that end, there will be voting done by all the members of RCTQ (not just the people who did the BOM) for the following:
Pieced BOM: Viewer's Choice and Honorary Mention Applique BOM: Viewer's Choice and Honorary Mention Pieced/Applique BOMs combined into one Quilt: Viewer's Choice and Honorary Mention Ultimate Viewer's Choice (voted across all the above categories)
Voting will be anonymous and the winners will get actual ribbons mailed to them made by me. Viewer's choice is the entry that gets the most votes. Honorary mention is the entry that gets the second most votes. In the event of a tie, I'll ask my esteemed husband to vote on the tied entries for the tie break. He knows what a fat quarter is so he's qualified! ;)
