RCTQ BOM for 2006-2007

Mar 31, 2007 23 Replies

Ok everyone, I'm not going to be around for the next couple of days...and only reading sporadically for awhile. Things have gotten a little crazy!

Just a quick note to remind you all that April is the month to be putting your quilt tops together! I can't wait to see how your wonderfully creative minds put together the blocks and prep your top for quilting next month!

Also, my e-mail inbox has been awfully empty of late....I know that someone out there really wants to be the host/ess for next year's BOM!

Dannielle

Maybe by next April I will have the blocks finished so I can make the tops...................

Same here! I got sooooooo far behind. It's on my list for summer vacation, which begins in about 10 weeks.

My top is together. You can see it if you scroll to the bottom of this link:

I'm going to try to get it quilted by Mother's Day, but it's slow-going!!!!

Oh my goodness, that is wonderful! The minute I saw your name I thought, "It's the cat lady! Come on Internet Explorer, get open fast. Must see this!!"

I too am a cat lady! After seeing your blocks as they developed through the year, I decided to start collecting cat fabrics.

The quilt has turned out GREAT!!! Am I remembering correctly, it goes to your mom?

That is such a wonderful quilt. I know your Mom will cherish it. Polly

Carole, it is gorgeous.

It's beautiful Carole - really lovely. Your mother will love it. Those fabrics look so good together; and the sashing is perfect. You've been amazingly quick with it, too. Thanks for sharing. . In message , Carole-Retired and Loving It writes

Mine's together! Probably won't make the quilting deadline though. Too many projects, too little time. Roberta in D

Wonderful! I really like the little filler blocks and the "brick" setting. Roberta in D

That turned out beautiful. You did yourself proud. Jeanbaby

Thanks everybody for all the nice compliments! It's certainly not a "delicate" or "elegant" quilt, but it will fit my mom. She lives in a house by a lake, and the house is very casual, with wood paneling on the walls, so this kind of quilt won't seem too out-of-place. She doesn't really have a decorating theme in her bedroom at all, so this should work either on top of the bed, or under another cover of some sort, whichever she wishes. I've trimmed two tan pillowcases with pieced strips edged with tiny strips of the sashing fabric, like those at the bottom and top of this quilt.

I love it!!! And I'm sure your mom will too.

I think that is really neat - just love your sashing. Your Mother will love it for sure. My opinion only but I think just some meandering quilting on the blocks would be great. Hope you make your deadline.

And the pictures are where?

Congratulations Carole! It's beautiful! I couldn't imagine how those blocks would come together, but you have pulled it together fabulously. Your mother is really going to love it!
