BOM

I'm printing out the paper-piecing foundation papers for the June 2006-2007 block. Why? Because I'm that far behind. I've been cleaning up my quilting area and found alllllllllll the fabrics for that BOM collection. Back then I did appliqué, pieced, and paper-pieced for April and May. Then I guess the regular school year came to a halt and sewing with my buddy did too. I may have been terribly intimidated by the paper-piecing at that time. Now, could I try-out for Queen of Paper-Piecing?

Maybe I'll actually make a separate album on my Webshots page. Maybe.

Duh, it's been so long that I've worked on it -- I already have a separate album.

I need to get back to that project too. I hope I have saved them saved on my desk top computer.

Way back then, if the pattern was not a pdf file, I made it into a Word document with documentation of the location of the link and the date I accessed that link. I had trouble trying to find some of the patterns because the links no longer existed. I think the Quilter's Cache ones just got rearranged on Marcia Hohn's pages.

I hope I can find the quilters cache ones.....I was doing the pieced and paper pieced blocks. If not, I'll make do with what I can find.

If you go directly to the site then look in the alphabetical list, you'll find them.

I'm going to complete all the paper-pieced ones, then maybe go back and do the regular pieced ones.

I didn't like my fabric choices for the appliquéd ones. I might start that bunch over again with totally different fabrics.

I found where I had saved all the links. Now to find my box of fabrics. LOL But not tonight.

Amy, are you still working on 2006-2007 too? I'm about to head to the quilting table to make June 2006.

Finished June 2006. Where was my brain when I chose the colors? Put your sunglasses on and take your anti-gag reflex meds, then go to my Webshots page. My points have gotten better in the last year and a half. I'd like to think my color choices are getting better too. I have no current evidence of that!

Must get out to the grocery store before the next snow-ice-sleet thingie hits. They don't really treat the roads here. They wait, then maybe plow. That leaves a thin skim of snow-ice on the pavement and asphalt. And gosh, what do you think happens -- slide, crash, off the road! On one hand they tell us not to drive. On the other hand they tell us to wait until the roads are better traveled. So who is going to travel on them if we are staying off the roads? One year they waited waaaaay to long to clear the roads. (Things do tend to melt here like in Camelot.) Three weeks later we were still driving in ice ruts with some folks still not able to get out of their communities! Sorry for the rant.

I don't think I've been grocery shopping for two weeks! Need some munchies for New Year's. And munchies for while sewing.

Maybe I'll get July done this afternoon.

That sounds nice- to escape to a July (block) in the midst of a snow/sleet/ice storm in late December. Good planning! LOL

So I can claim credit for planning that!?!

We had some delightful snow yesterday -- no accumulation on the valley floor. Earlier in the day there were chain and snowtire requirements east of town. That's unusual. The other unusual part is that I want to make my twice-yearly trip east of town today! Two quilt shops about an hour from here. One has a big sale, only today. I'm waiting for daylight to see what the road outside my apartment looks like.

Your blocks aren't that bad Kay. You just like to use loads of different fabrics. Nothing wrong with that. You just need to find the right sashing now and they'll look great.... you are going to finish it aren't you? >G< Looking forward to seeing your 2007-2008 ones. :-D

Your road works dept. sound a bit like ours. Everything grinds to a hault when we get the slightest hint of snow. Good job we don't get the amount some places get.

Yup, I plan to finish the paper-pieced ones in the next month or so. Maybe I'll get them done by the time this break is over on January 24. (I have a week-long literacy workshop to attend during this break also.) I think I have enough of the pink to use for sashing. I'll wait to decide until I get all the blocks done. In the photos the dark green just really seems to stick out. When I hold the block in my hand, the dark green looks nice. Let's face it, I won't be spending a lot of time looking at the blocks on my computer -- I'll be using the quilt!

2007-2008? I might work on those in 2010. :-)

Must get to the January Carol Doak BOM in the next couple of days. At least that's one BOM I'm keeping up with.

Kay: When a UFO comes to light, it almost seems like a surprise gift! I hope you enjoy your BOM again. I know your work is just lovely, so the quilt will end up being beautiful. Before you get too caught up in sewing, please email me; I lost my address book! Happy New Year, PAT

Very quietly I raise my hand. Kay I never finished all the applique blocks. And I don't have all the applique patterns saved to my computer and some have been removed from their web locations. I'm not going to stress about it though. I have a huge number of possible patterns to use and can add whatever I want to go with the ones I have. I've been saving all the new ones being posted for this year too. Debra in VA See my quilts at

So maybe there are three of us in the 2006-2007 Club!!

I actually have both June and July done now. They're on my Webshots page in the RCTQ album. I'll start August this evening or tomorrow morning.

I truly feel like I'm accomplishing something! And I am even staying up to date with the Carol Doak and Pat Sloan BOMs. Of course, I haven't started the RCTQ 2007-2008 blocks. . . . .

Thank you for noticing my pointy points! I got a great tip -- sew just barely inside the lines that make a V-point. Then they don't get chopped off with the next seam.
