It takes me about 2 years to complete a Mirabilia. But I have three more of her mermaids waiting for my attention.

Then again, I tend to flit from project to project such that anything would take me a while to complete simply because it spends time being ignored while I do something else.

Thank you very much for the lovely compliment :-). I got the sashiko supplies as a gift from the mother of Yuki Ueda, one of my host-daughters. She sent one piece that was already stitched and then supplies to do three more in different colors. When I asked Yuki-chan if the finished pieces were framed or perhaps made into a pillow, she laughed uproariously and said "Those things are used to dry the dishes!" I nearly fell off my chair at that point -- LOLOL. Then I remembered all the dish towels I stitched AND used eons ago AND ended up sending to the Goodwill when they got old and ratty and sashiko dish towels didn't seem so silly anymore :-). After that field trip, I took Yuki and her friends to the local craft store (Michael's most likely) and showed them some blue lie thigs they had available for purchase so they could see the types of useful, daily household items that were available for stitching here. NO NO NO NO NO!!!! Anne -- it is a SERIES of designs, all related and I worked on SIX different ones during a little over two months :-). THAT makes it much more palatable, doesn't it -- LOLOL! They are small designs -- between 5 1/2" to 6 1/2" square. The reason it took so long is that the designs have a LOT of detail in them and are truly exquisite when finished. I won't say any more, I'm not sure how much I can safely say until the designs are released -- they are only going to be framed next week. I should think it will be several months before they are available and Janet posts the info. This was her first stitching project (I'm not sure project is the right term but it's all I can think of at the moment) for Hoffman (I think she's usually in charge of keeping subscriptions in order or something like that) and she is really excited about it :-). When the project is finally unveiled, you know I will be hocking all of you to go buy it so that there is a lot of positive response and maybe they will let Janet do more needlework stuff :-)))). I'm being VERY selfish here -- the more needlework projects Janet is in charge of, the more chance there is that she might ask me to do some model stitching and the more $$$ I have to spend on needlework projects of my own -- LOLOL! Actually, I was being facetious -- in netspeak, that's almost 'trolling' -- saying something that's sure to elicit a response.

I'd love to have a big project or a series of little ones that said 'stitch me. stitch me now!' I've got a lot that could be done but don't have anything in my stash that I really want to do.

If the projects are translatable to surface stitching, my arm might be twisted ;-)

I didn't remember you telling us that she is a Himalayan! They are suck lovely cats with the best of the Persian and Siamese but leaving out the worst :-). Well, it's a series of florals with exquisite shading and they should be easily translated to surface work. Well, maybe not easily but florals are things that, to MOI, just beg to be done in surface work :-). CiaoMeow >^;;^<

I loved looking at all of your simply gorgeous work! You are an incredibly talented woman, and I am completely humbled... :)

I also loved checking out Lucylle! She is simply stunning.... I have a 2000 GT, 8 cyl. 5 spd, turbo'd with a custom red and black paint job.... she is my baby... lol

Poor Lucylle hasn't been out & about much for TWO YEARS! DH stated to fix one thing which then led to fixing another thing which led to another and another and..... well, you get the picture. I'm pretty sure he has gotten all the "important" bits fixed or replaced and he is now worrying the brakes to death! Hopefully, we will be able to get back to doing some car shows and cruise-ins *next* summer!! As for my "stuff", thanks for the lovely compliment :-). It helps that my mother, aunts, grandmother and others, generations back, provided me with the genetics to be able to do all of those things. CiaoMeow >^;;^<
