Naomah has agreed to stock the hologram threads I like, but I will need to produce a sample to help her show them off to other customers.
I'd like a quick stitch like a freebie or a mini so that I can do two variations on a mermaid, one with plain floss and one with hologram thread, without spending forever stitching this up.
Anyone got any ideas?
How about one of Jennifer Aikman-Smith's Dragon Dreams freebies? I know she has a small mermaid among her Christmyth assortment, as well as other dragons, wyverns, etc which also might be suitable for your hologram thread sample.

In fact, small as she is, I might do a floss, a floss+hologram, and a multiple strands of hologram/no floss version to give the customers the full range of possibilities.
LOL! Just the thought of that gives me the willies. It took me over two years to do "Waiting for Ships." I loved doing it, but I'd not want to do the same one again, especially when I've got 4 others in my stash!

Nope. 45 minutes south to Modesto, 45 minutes east to Placerville, and I've heard rumors about 45 minutes north to Auburn.
But I have Needle Delights, and soon to have our Naomah, which is delightful, because it saves me the $4 bus fare, as well as physical wear and tear, and I don't feel guilty about paying S&H when there's no other option.
My latest stash arrived from ND this morning. Glendon Place has a new Nativity out (it's in the NN catalogue, so I'm assuming it's on the NN website). For those of you who want a nice Nativity but the Marbek is too big/expensive/time-consuming, have a look. Uses a gajillion colors, so it ain't cheap, but still a fraction of the cost of the Marbek. And works up to only 15x15, so you won't have to devote an entire wall to hanging it, either.
