There is an "Alberta clipper" on the way--very high winds, high wind chill. By the time I come home from work tonight at 10:30, there will be snow drifting on the roads, blowing, no visibility. Outside of the city it will be foolhardy to travel.
So I have set up my coffee pot and put a CD in my player, made sure there are matches and candles at hand in case the power goes out, put a throw on the couch, and set out a simple knitting project. Something nice and warm to come home to. There is something very pleasant about watching a storm rage when you are cozy inside.
(and in case that is not comforting enough, my girlfriends and I are arranging to meet for lunch at our favourite brewpub tomorrow. Just getting there will make us feel very pioneering and thus entitled to good pub grub) Dawne
