Mosaic embroidery

From time to time i embroider bigger things as if in mosaics, using small groups of same stitches as one `cube` or part of the mosaics,,, it is a very pleasnat way to get bigger works done , and it fullfills a need to make that work a STORY in itself ,,, mirjam

I've thought about translating micro-mosaics (especially a pin I got from my grandmother) in to a stitched piece. Just need the time to really think it through.

take a photo of your chosen mosaic , enlarge to A4 , en run it through a fax or scan it without colors [ Only Black/White this might give you some insights in how to start embroidering it . mirjam

I've thought about doing some mandalas the same way.

Linda , By choosing to see a given colored patter, or pictyre in B/W , you have a new perspective /or idea of how the colors are `built` / laid /combined in relation to each other. When i prepare warps i wrap a cardboard with my threads , and take a B/ W picture, it helps to See `Deeper` [ for lack of another word] into the work. mirjam
