My latest finish

I posted a picture to RCTNP of the Laura Perin Flying Geese canvas I just finished. It was fun to do.

Thanks much. The colors are brighter then they look in the picture, but as I've said before, I'm photography challenged.

Having recently finished "Canada Geese", this was not what I expected. :-)

Your work is beautiful!!! And, I love the colors!! How will you finish it?

Thanks much. I have no idea how I'll finish it. Maybe a pillow, maybe a frame, maybe something else! lol

Any great idea out there for something different?

You can make a shopping bag with it -

That would be interesting, but I can't imagine putting a jar of pickles in it. Maybe some lettuce and an eggplant would look nice though.. lol

Maybe not a shopping bag but how about on a poggabook (for non-NyewYawkers, that's pocket book aka handbag or purse).

It would make a nice summery tote bag. I'll keep that in mind.

Since I have a good idea of the actual size, I would recommend a book bag/small tote if you go that route.

That's more what I meant, rather than groceries. Had a lot of compliments on mine, done with a piece of crewel.

Beautiful, Lucille! If you make a tote, you'll have to do another one in slightly different colors (maybe more purples?) for the other side!

Ah, many of us are photo challenged with these things. Piece looks lovely. You might like the Nancy's Nwwslw set of quilt pieces, or Jeweled Garden. They're great colors, lots of satin and scotch stitch, look really nice and aren't difficult if you can keep track of direction. JoAnn, my friend who has taught a bunch of the quilt pieces as kind of beginning canvas, has actually suffered thru one student who does fine XS but cannot get a grip on this - using way, way long pieces of perle that fuzz, and refusing to mark her chart so she's always losing track. But, I thought the looks might appeal to you.

Oh - here is Nancy's site:

i have finally got around to reading RCTN..Lucille, it is just GORGEOUS! I now have a hankering to do a geometric piece; however I have three projects I HAVE to start and finish at various times this year...plus one to finish for Jim's aged aunt (need to do that while she can still see it).

It's fun to do. Once you get the center done it gets simpler to keep count.
