I have fallen in love with these 2 designs! "Carol Singers" Sampler:
New Victoria Sampler designs
Oh Dear -- I might have to get those charts myself! DH and I are off to Pigeon Forge, TN tomorrow for a long anniversary weekend. One of the shops I **always** visit is the LNS there -- Dixie Darlins' or something similar is the name. Anyway, it's a really superb shop and I will have to make a point of looking for these charts. I'm not particularly into gingerbread houses but Janet is. I DO like 3 dimensional type projects, tho', so it would work for both of us :-). Victoria Sampler designs are among my most favourite so the Carol Singers chart is a done deal for MOI!! CiaoMeow >^;;^<
I, too, fell in love with "Carol Singers" sampler and ordered it. My big problem is that I do not know how to do hardanger. I tried in a one day class a few years ago and failed miserably. I will need to substitute something else on the bottom. Any suggestions?
Is it the stitching, or the cutting?
The stitching is pretty simple, once you figure out how hard or not to pull the longer stitches to get them to lay flat.
If it's the cutting, just do the kloster blocks and a short satin stitch, maybe pulled a bit, to mimic the wrapped bars. Skip the cutting entirely.
