No, not at all. We took the mice out on the parkway, away from residential area, and let them off in the woodsy area, it's just above the Potomac river, near where DH works. On the base, they have huge, huge flocks of geese (Canadian) as well - there are even "Goose Crossing" warning signs on the parkway near the entry to the base, and all over the base.
I'm not very able to just kill some mice - but would rather relocate them.

You can't hide far enough away......Never did that. However... When we had some dead little animals in the pool after a storm, I do believe that DH was in charge of their disposition. And, well, as I recall, he and some of his cronies may have indulged in the use of the skimmer on the long pole for a sporting event of flinging into the far, wooded, reaches of our not-so-nice next door neighbor's yard. They wouldn't tell me before they did it, but after. In all honesty, I'm sure that the remains were used as nourishment by the local wildlife (there were a lot of carrion eating birds, and some foxes in the area).
Fortunately, Puckster is a lover, not a prey dog - and while he has brought us to come find a dying baby squirrel, and some bunnies - he didn't cause their injuries.
Enough of the mice! I'm so glad not to have that issue in this house.

When I lived in Shad Bay, I only knew I had mice when Bucket would bring them to the bedroom and be chomping down on the crunchy heads. He always left the tail and gall bladder though.

For some reason that reminds me of Monty Python and "Crunchy Frog"

You either love Marmite or loathe it - I love it. The Australian Vegemite is less fierce - but is really just for wimps!!!

I don't think I ever saw that one! In the fall, when the mice were searching for somewhere warm for the winter, I did not step out of bed before switching on the light. The people who purchased from me had a cat, so I guess they were safe too.

I bought some Vegemite once, and it was very disappointing. It was something I would never buy again...but give me a piece of Ryvita, liberally buttered and the Marmite swirled into the butter...well, that is *almost* ambrosia! Marmite on a hot crumpet ( toasted on a fork over the fire) with butter and Marmite dripping through the holes *IS* ambrosia!
Gill...drooling like crazy!

To me eating Ryvita is like trying to chomp through a /papier mache/ egg box although the egg box has more flavour. But Marmite (Vegemite with attitude) on hot, buttered crumpets that have been toasted over an open fire - truly magical!
