No pets in this house.

BUT DD will come in on cold nights. Her bed is against the outside wall and she gets cold....

Wincyette?

You really need to be old(ish) and British to know about wincyette (or winceyette). It's a cotton flannelette with a nap on both sides.

They have some really light weight socks designed for this. You could try doing it for just a little while. I can't stand when my feet get hot, so I start off with the cream and socks, then pull them off in a while.

I found some stains on an old crewel pillow, done on that old offwhite material so many kits used in the sixties. I dyed the whole thing a verrrry pale shade of yellow, which barely changed the crewel colors, but covered the stain, and brightened up the whole affair. So much so, that I dyed some other ecru based pillows too.

Smart lady! I got lucky, but I'll remember that one!

Other than the "oldish" I suspect the way to describe Winceyette ( a term I haven't heard for 40plus years) might be a soft brushed cotton. Extremely comfy, and relatively light weight for nighties and jammies. IIRC it feels lighter than the flanelette stuff we have here. However, time does change memories!!

Reminds me of something I did once. Spilled strawberry pop on the front of a cream-colored shirt that was something like microfiber--whatever it was, it felt nice.

Anyway, that stain wouldn't come out so I dunked the whole thing in a vat of strawberry pop. Turned out very nicely, if I do say so myself.

Mine are navy blue with snowmen all over them! Plus some lovely thick soft-top socks from Tesco`s. As my DH says - "An erotic nightmare!!!", but who cares. I can`t sleep with cold feet!
