OT-An Eye Roller

*-------------- Guaranteed to Roll Your Eyes ---------------*

A seafood restaurant had a sign in the window that read, "Big Lobster Tales, $5 each."

Amazed at the great value, a man stopped in and asked the waitress, "Five dollars each for lobster tails -- is that correct?"

"Yes," she said. "It's our special just for today."

"Well," he said, "they must be little lobster tails."

"No," she replied, "it's the really big lobster."

"Big red lobster tails, $5 each?" he said, amazed. "They must be old lobster tails!"

"No, they're definitely today's."

"Today's big red lobster tails -- $5 each?" he repeated, astounded.

"Yes," she insisted.

"Well, here's my five dollars," he said. "I'll take one."

She took the money and led him to a table where she invited him to sit down. She then sat down next to him, put her hand on his shoulder, leaned over close to him, and said, "Once upon a time there was a really big, red lobster..."

I did that to my dad once. He really loves ethnic jokes, so I told him I had a new Polish joke for him. When he asked me to tell him, I started right in "Pewnego razu, byly...." He was not amused.

I'm going to add to your reading problem by asking: what does "Pewnego razu, byly" mean. Even though I have a Polish name, which actually belonged to my husband, I have not a single word of Polish in my vocabulary.

Well, that would explain the ringing in my ears! LOL! Phone's downstairs, I'm up - too lazy. LOL!

Pewnego razu, byly translates to "once upon a time, there were..." It's simply how one starts a story. The joke was that I was telling my dad a REAL Polish joke.

I've been here off and on, but mostly just very busy. When I'm not busy I seem to be in a novel reading rut. Gone through a passel of them lately: _The Last Days of Dogville_, _Three Junes_, _The Inheritance of Loss_, _The Conjurer's Bird_, _High Fidelity_. Been nice. Haven't done this much reading in a long time.

I did actually pull out a cross stitch project the other day, but haven't touched it. Maybe soon. Getting closer.

Actually, I'll call as soon as the cell recharges and I figure out what DS did to my contacts list.
