Everything is covered in 'bling' this summer. I just bought a scanty swimsuit for my daughters boyfriend and intend to add some sequins etc. for the trip to the Dominican Republic.

Just downright sexy and feminine Mirjam ... we see lots of that here too - on shoes, jeans, t-shirts, purses - I love it. In some of the fancy stores in Toronto, I saw flat shoes - embroidered with sequins and beads - prices absolutely crazy - $180.00 and up. Walmart and Zellers have some just as adorable for much cheaper. Everything's shiny this year it seems.

Yes Sharon you are right it is Sexy and Feminine and is Alas also a sign of poverty, because somewhere they are people willing to do it for a price we can afford ,,And It has also been researched that at times of poverty ,people preffer shinier clothes,,, Thus i am glad with the beautiful sights and concerned with the Social meanings behind it ... mirjam Ps shoes here , [ flat] were 140 Shekels [ less than 5 shekel =1$]

Just add some gorgeous beads to those shoes Karen - and you'll be right up to date. Bling Bling :-))

Actually, I had bought some large, gaudy clip-on earrings years ago -- too large to comfortably attach to one's ears, but a quick way to jewel up shoes for a dressy function.

Oh yes, neat idea .... I can remember way back when you could actually buy bling clips to put on your shoes - they looked especially nice on black patent leather TAP shoes. But when this old broad used to take (was forced to take) tap lessons, I'd clip some of my Mother's earrings on my shoes *just cuz* - it made the lessons more bearable. :-(

Actually, I did that way back in the 50's. It was a very popular thing to do when I was in High School.

Good Night to those who are in the dark, and Good Morning to you Mirjam.
