OT - Floridian Humor & Senior Moments

My DA in DelRay sent me this - thought it worth forwarding:

This is a true account as recorded in the Police Log of Sarasota, Florida...

An elderly Florida lady did her shopping and, upon returning to her car, found four males in the act of leaving with her vehicle. She dropped her shopping bags and drew her handgun, proceeding to scream at the top of her voice, "I have a gun, and I know how to use it! Get out of the car!"

The four men didn't wait for a second invitation. They got out and ran like mad. The lady, somewhat shaken, then proceeded to load her shopping bags into the back of the car and got into the driver's seat. She was so shaken that she could not get her key into the ignition.

She tried and tried, and then it dawned on her why... For the same reason she did not understand why there was a football, a Frisbee and two 12 packs of beer in the front seat! A few minutes later, she found her own car parked four or five spaces farther down. She loaded her bags into the car and drove to the police station to report her mistake.

The sergeant to whom she told the story couldn't stop laughing. He pointed to the other end of the counter, where four pale men were reporting a car jacking by a mad, elderly woman described as white, less than five feet tall, glasses, curly white hair, and carrying a large handgun. No charges were filed.

Remember...

"If you're going to have a Senior Moment, make it a memorable one!"

They kind of say it's a legend, but I don't think they actually say it really happened. However, a friend of mine once took the key to his new Toyota Camray, opened the front door and wondered why the engine wouldn't turn over. Suddenly a man came up to him cursing and carrying on and asking what the hell Milt, my friend, was doing in his car.

It turned out that the door key opened this guy's car, as well as Milt's car which was parked a few down in the same aisle.

Needless to say, my friend was both embarassed and upset and brought his car back to the dealer for a new lock. According to Toyota that couldn't happen, but it did. After some arguing they did change his locks and keys.

Eons ago, I lived in a small apartment building. The gal 3 doors down knocked on my door one evening, asking to borrow my key because she'd locked herself out. It seems she'd given the handyman one beer too many one night and he let it slip that all the doors in the building were keyed alike. She knew she could trust me with the information that she and I need never be locked out again.
