She is coming along - still only emerges from under the bed when I go to bed, though she nearly emerged sooner last night. She still howls sometimes in the night but less. If she is howling as much as she was, I have at least learned to sleep through it.

I started combing her when she came on the bed the other night and found she loves to be groomed and I think that will be the way to her heart finally. Last night after combing her back and legs I rolled her over to do her tum, she permitted it for a minute then firmly rolled back. That's good though, says to me she will trust me fully soon. Maybe by the end of June she will have accepted the sad truth and finished her longing for her dead mistress.
