OT - Good Reminder

A friend's sister was towelling off from her shower when her husband called her to the phone. She loves to have a candle burning while showering, but when she ran for the phone, she just threw her towel and guess where it landed? Right on the candle!! It took no time to set the bathroom on fire - one whole wall will probably have to be replaced. So remember people - do NOT leave a candle unattended for even a few minutes .. they're so pretty but so dangerous when left on their own. Glad that Caryn, family and pets are safe.

This current craze for candles seems pretty nuts, when you think a) of the dangers and b) how delighted everyone was to get rid of the inconvenience of them when electricity came in!

Candles are fine in church, on birthday cakes, and in power cuts! LOL!

I like candles for looks but have none, on purpose, other than special events like birthdays. Being in a small house with 2 kids, 2 cats and

3 large dogs would make candles extremely unsafe. I don't even have anything breakable on the coffee table - when a Lab decides to wag their tail, things go flying! LOL

Same reason I don't have housplants - don't want to spend all my time sweeping up dirt and leaves that some critter has knocked over.
