OT: HELP!!!

Just written over the installation floppy for my flaming Packard Bell Video Dream (read nightmare!) machine.

That`s what happens when you trying to fiddle with the computer when you`re tired. I don`t suppose anyone on here will admit to owning such a thing, but if you have, PLEASE could you sell me a copy of the floppy!

If you can't find anyone to help you might be able to get tech support from PB.

Thanks for the thought, though. Next time I`m going to get my computer built locally. Never again will I touch "Packard Hell".

They obviously haven't gotten any better since I owned a PB back in 1996. I also said never again! Sorry I can't help but you have my heartfelt sympathy. Even if I could find a disk I doubt anything that old would work. Good luck!

Finally phoned th help-line at PC World, who gave me a phone number in Holland, and I`ve bought a Recovery disk from them - luckily that`s ALL I needed as the three CDs are no longer produced. Show how much faith they have in the longevity of their products, doesn`t it? I only bought it four years ago!

That is the best solution. I bought mine, custom built, about 3-4 years ago, I have added stuff, DVD burner, extra HDs etc and it has grown as I needed it to. I can also make a local phone call to Steve (the very moreish techie at the place) and he will tell me what I need to know or do. Biggest plus, helped a local company as well as me and was maybe only slightly more expensive initially but cheaper in the long run.
