A Merry Christmas from Orkney where the sun is shining down from a cloudless sky and the wind has abated. Although it's a bit chilly we had about 30 at the 11 am service which was taken by Rev David Bowen (retired CofE clergyman & schoolteacher now resident on Stronsay with his wife, Ruth) thus giving our minister, Rev Dr Jennifer George, a well-earned break. My Christmas has just come to an end, a happy day with a new fragrance and a new kitchenaid mixer from my gorgeous man, and a wonderful, long lusted after stitching book from a dear friend - lucky me. On the down side the day was 40.7C (approx 105F), and much much hotter over a hot barbeque plate while lunch was cooked. Even normally efficient air conditioners struggled.

Best wishes to those with the day yet to unfold.

Please send one my way too. It's pouring rain and the temperature is in the 70's and it just doesn't look like Christmas, even though my neighbors decorated their lawn with Santa and reindeer.

Lucky me, I'm off to a friend this afternoon for Christmas dinner and all I had to do was make the usual dreaded Cranberry mold and enjoy all the rest.

Merry Christmas to all !!!

Merry Christmas everyone from the Eastern Shores of Canada (Upper Coverdale, New Brunswick to be exact). Day started out sunny but has clouded over somewhat and the wind has come up. Roads are clear for travel. Turkey is in the oven and the house is smelling scrumptious. Neighbours should arrive in about an hour, then we'll tip a few and stuff our faces. Good thing about it, they can all walk home. :-)) Have a good one!!

And also merry Christmas to all my good friends here. It is nearing bedtime, I am tired, but HAPPY tired!! I had a lovely Christmas with DH, and my son Mike (first for 20+years) with his wife, Ayako. We all enjoyed the assortment of gifts under the tree. The turkey came out just right, and our gift from Mike and Aya has been fun. A digital picture thingy with a 2G chip, with all their pictures from their years in Japan! (Wow, they sure can consume beer though, without visible effects!!Wish I still could LOL).

To my good friend, Joan, I will email you.....but a package showed up from her with dachshund slippers!! Aren't rctn friends just great?

Time to relax for the night.

Hugs to all
