And to you, too, and to everyone else here! Sounds lovely! We* gather on 26. when it's mom's birthday at their place to celebrate. No 24.-December-stress for my mom, just a pleasant getting together with a gift exchange. Worked excellently last year when she had her cardiac arythmia or whatever it's called in English. We will visit DH's sister on the 24. for cake and coffee. I had planned to go to church so that Christine gets to hear the organ again, but it wouldn't work out time-wise, and I feel that reconciliation within the family is more important. ;-)

Have a happy holiday season everyone!

We had our immediate family gift exchange yesterday at younger DD's house, because she has to work (at a hospital) on the 24th. :-( She will be able to join us for dinner, just not early in the day for the gifts as we usually do.

I have the table set with the good china, crystal and flatware for nine. That's way down from years past, attrition is taking a toll. I sure hope the grands bring in some new family eventually. There were years when I had to set two tables, one for 14, the overflow 10 adults in the living room and the kids at card tables. Those were hectic but wonderful days.

A Most Glorious Christmas and a Happy Winter Solstice to all my friends, both near & far.

It's been many years since I've set the table for more than 7, and this year, it'll be just the 2 of us, as usual. We are undecided if we'll go over to Galveston Island for the weekend or just stay home. DS would like to take me over there, but is leaving it up to me. Frankly, I like to be home; I enjoy the many phone calls from children & grandchildren, especially.

We saw all the children, except one daughter this spring/summer and will see my siblings & their families in mid-January. That will have to suffice till the summer again. I only hope there are no DGC weddings this summer.
