A new airline where all pets travel in the main cabin and owners are not allowed on board.

This has to be the dopiest idea I've ever heard of. I doubt my little guy, who is totally a couch potato and/or a lap dog, would be happy in a cabin, away from me and put among strange to him dogs and cats. I suspect he would be frightened.

I think probably the problem lies in that many airlines do not want to carry pets, in cabin or hold. When you ship them they sometimes endure misery, not being loaded in a thoughtful manner, very variable conditions and temps in the hold etc. I do know a lot of pets never arrive alive.

That being the case, if you have to move and wish to take your pet, this at least would be a safe way to go. The vet could supply a tranquiliser and all should be well.

I'm still not in favor of the idea. I sometimes had to tranquilize my little Toy Fox Terror if we went for a long ride in the car because 1-He really was a terror and 2-he threw up. It never worked out particularly well. He had some peculiar reactions to the meds and I don't think he could have been trusted with strangers. He would wake up snarling and barking and snapping and would sometimes thrust all of his under 10 lbs. at you as though he was a hippo.

With Puff, he's a wimp and I would worry that he would get really upset by the experience. Whenever I left him at the Vet's kennel, he came home nutty and he knows them there.
