OT - Peeps

It's getting to be that time again. My newspaper is running a "Pimp your Peeps" contest.

The Washington Post does a big contest as well. I think you should set one up and enter! My favorites are the ones who manage to do a peep movie. You could have Peep Stitch'n'Bitch

That could be cute...with toothpicks for knitting needles and floss for yarn....

I'm guessing this year there will be several inauguration peep dioramas. And maybe a good peep chase scene from the Black Knight? I've been trying to come up with a good idea. After all there are bragging rights and a cash prize.

My true problem would lie in eating the working materials. Sigh. What can I say. I like Peeps.

Oh good, I'm not the only one! Stale or fresh. Each has charms of their own.

I guess I should finally come out and say I like them too. We should be bold and just say it--I LIKE PEEPS.

I'll come out as well, but on the fresh side. Fresh peeps are wonderful. I will also admit to putting one in my hot cocoa this morning. A coworker was passing them out. Looks a little odd melting in the mug, but definitely tasted good.

It would appear that Peeps in North America

are the approxmate equivalent of the Cadbury Creme Egg in the UK

I'm not sure what you mean by that Bruce. They are entirely different, and if I could only have one I would choose the Cadbury Creme Egg every time. I like peeps, but in limited quantitees. I never get tired of the Cadbury Creme Eggs.

Too sweet for me, and amazingly, DH doesn't care for them. So, hmmm - maybe Donna & I will have to try something. Though, I can't see us demonstrating Peeps construction project when at Woodlawn next week.

Now that is a really good idea for Peep usage. Hmmm, I wonder if we could do a Peep skating diorama - though they'd melt on real water....

Maybe in cult following, but the actual items are not at all alike. Cadbury Crème Eggs are sold here, as well.

I stand corrected. However, neither of them appeal to me as I don't really have a sweet tooth. Peeps seem to be made from marshmallow (eucchhh!) whereas Creme Eggs are chocolate filled with sickly sweet goo (EUUCCHHH!)

You'll understand our family reference to Cadbury eggs: When DD was about four, she was encouraging an adult to share her Cadbury egg, and said, "Cut in in half. It's just like snot inside." Since that day, they've been "booger eggs."
