I am starting to collate names and such of those coming! Last year we used a yahoo group and had a database of who was coming when and with whom... it is still up! This group is for members of RCTQ and their friends who will be attending the IQF in Houston. It is by invitation only. (this IS your invite, so please send us an email telling us who you are if you would like to join! ) This keeps some of our info more secure and keeps RCTQ less cluttered with our chitter chatter.

and if you can't make it til 2006, you can let me know that too! Just make sure you tell me which year you'll be there!

We send messages about who's got stuff in the show and when we're planning on being there. Closer to time we can swap cell phone #'s if we choose and where we're staying so we can reach each other for "after hours activities" like dinner, museums, touring, etc...

My trusty sidekick, the proficient herder of wet cats, our very own KCK will most likely not make it again this year :( so you all will have to bear with me and my less organized brain to gather everyone. Anyone who wants to toss in their hat for the sidekick position is most welcome! Especially if you know your way around town better than I :~)

Kevin and i usually did a museum tour with a bunch of RCTQers on thursday and whomever can make it meets up in the cafeteria at lunch on Friday and Saturday. We've had as many as 3 dozen of us at once!!

i, erm, still have TDB in my studio so i won't have to hunt down Sarah to get it from her. I should be able to bring it to lunch on Saturday... maybe on Friday as well.

So if you think you are coming, go to the yahoo site and drop me a note!

Kellie - I'm with you. I'm working most every day of the show from market through the festival - but usually only from like 8-12 and some days 9-4.

With the exception of the times I am working the festival - I would also volunteer for some "sidekickness" (is that a word?!LOL) as I was born and raised here and lived here all my life. I am also extremely centrally located since I live near downtown/Med Center.

Also - we have a VAN! Not a mini-van mind you - but an industrial, school bus/church van that carries 10 passengers.

Email me off list if you like and I'll be glad to give my phone number!

Tina, in Houston, home of the IQF!

yep Jeanne - even with the third bench in - there is STILL room for fabric stash in the back!

And I figure each woman can put one bag directly under her bench seat, one bag between her legs and one bag in her lap and wellllllllllll.............. DH will have to take his tool box out of the back too, that will make room for at least 4 more bags and/or boxes of stuff........... and then, well, there's always the roof! Luggage racks anyone?????? LOL

And to think I despised this van when he first bought it..........

you might need to also put in camping facilitys in the backyard girl, lol. i could envision some serious chocolate/fabric sessions that go way too far into the night during festival week, eh. solar showers would be handy. in tx i imagine they'd work just fine and dandy. btw, you membership is current, lol. hugz, jeanne

OMG Carey! That DOESN'T look like the kind of help I need! LOL

Quilters Anonymous my patooty!

Yes, I think you are right - I will one day have to start my own chapter of Quilters Anonymous - the Twelve Step Program kind........ not the kind where they give you more quilt projects to do!

Tina, thinking the fifth Thursday of December 2050 would be a good day to start that program.......

you are most welcome to stay at my house to save on hotel costs, but with the cost of gas and the 35 miles each way to get there, you might not save much at all...

come on over though!!!!

Well, I'd invite everyone to stay at my house - but seeing has how the one I live in is packed and full of boxes and furniture sitting everywhere - and the one I don't live in yet is a disaster and filled with paint fumes and cleaners.......... don't know who would WANT to stay here. LOL

Can I share a hotel room with one of YOU?!?!?

Course, if it ever cools down, we could all pitch tents in the back yards!

Tina, thinking I should have invited everyone over anyway....then handed everyone a paint brush!

i'll come help you paint if you come help me :) love to paint, but would rather have someone to talk to while doing it... or no kids and dogs and a cool day so i could blast the radio...

Kellie, I've already put my info into the Yahoo database -- I'll be there again. :D I love going to Houston, and meeting up with RCTQers makes it even more special. Woohoo! :)

I can just hear her now:

I'm calling in sick today. Where are you? I'm in Houston. Houston? Yes, Houston. You must REALLY be sick if you think you are in Houston---go ahead and take the rest of the week off.

(Annie, get the maps out, I didn't know we had a place called Houston around here)

LOL - I can just see her face!!! I'm already being evil and putting thoughts into her head that I may not renew my contract for next year. Just pray that there is another job out there for me that comes up next school term...
