Yes, Kate! You DO need to hit a big show! Des Moines or Chicago would probably be the closest big ones to you. The Des Moines show is an AQS show and the Chicago one is put on by Quilts, Inc. (The Houston people)

Me!me! ...arriving Wednesday morning in a group of 20 from the Marietta/Atlanta Ga area. We'll be at the Residence Inn Downtown Marriot, leaving Sunday afternoon. Sure would like to find some

*real* chili rellanos during the trip!

Sandy, weren't you there the year Helen Smith (from the longboat, Armadillo) and Annie were both able to attend?

I'll be arriving (alone) on Wednesday afternoon, leaving Monday morning, staying at the Doubletree downtown.

Rusty, I don't remember Annie, but I certainly do remember Helen! :) That was a fun year. :D

My daughter and I are going! We'll arrive on Thursday and stay through Sunday. This will be our 8th or 9th year. For the BEST Mexican Food go to Ninfa's original restaurant. Website:

restaurant is FAMOUS! It's not far from the convention center and the hotels transportation vans will take you there, or taxis are really inexpensive. We eat there every year. Go early or you may have to stand in line. Michelle G.

Hi! I was there, and so were Kris and Wendy (frood) and of course, Sarah was there with the "RCTQ Damn Banner!" It was a great visit .... my first to the Really Big Quilt Show in Texas. Some of the Ramada Girls had dinner on Halloween at a restaurant where staff was in costume, and we met ELVIS too. Pat, strolling down memory lane, in Virginia

That really was fun, wasn't it, Pat? And then there was the big dinner at the Mexican restaurant a different night. We couldn't all sit together for that one, but we had a good time. :)

That was the one and only year I was in Houston too. It was 2002 and Kevin was still a frequent r,c,t,q,'er. (anybody know where he is now?) and Ally from UK was there too, and Lorilynn and Nurse Ratchet and Nancie and Sandi,Kellie and Kris (have a cow quilt) and remember we all signed the Damn Banner? Who has the Banner now?

TDB (That Damn Banner) was supposed to be at the show in 2006, brought by Mz Saireys cousin, i think. sadly she was a no-show and i didnt get to sign it. maybe the banner will surface another time and i'll get back to see the show again and i will get to add my siggy to it. i do hope the banner shows up somewhere as it was far too good to be lost forever. right now my tired old body, soul and mind just arent up to doing much of anything. j.

Does anyone know if the the Houston spreadsheet with the mobile numbers is still online? I've been back a few times, but the old excitement of meeting 'faceless friends' from the internet seems to have waned. It was Ally I was trying to recall earlier when I mentioned 'Annie' and Helen earlier. I'd love to know what happened to Kevin, too; seems like he just vanished. (Wasn=92t the restaurant, Papacito=92s?)

I very clearly remember you being there, Mickie! I haven't heard anything from Kevin for a long time. Ally is the one who was responsible for my being there at all, something for which I'll always be grateful. :)
