Thank you--it is. I am trying to decided what my official age is, a dilemma that arises since DD will be 30 (how COULD she!!) later this month.

Since you are trying to decided, have you celebrated already, or is it old age creeping in ? 30 ??? You are spring chickens, my eldest turned 50 arggggh in September. These kids, they keep getting older! I hope you are off out with your sister friends tonight.

No celebration so far. But I did invite a dear elder male friend out for cappucino this morning as a gift to myself, and came home to find not-quite-ex had left flowers and Belgian chocolates (when he lived here I didn't get birthday presents!!) and DD phoned to invite me out on Wednesday night (we had planned for tonight, but she has had a b'ball game crop up, so I will look out the crystal tumbler and have a glass of Scotch instead).

While I was on the phone with DD, not-quite-Ex came back and unwrapped the roses--patience has never been his principle virtue--which turned out to be

While at the coffee place a good sister friend did arrive, and we are hatching tenative plans for a day trip to Moose Jaw (hey, if it was good enough for Al Capone.....) probably for a quilt shop and tea room binge.

I have another cappucino date with two good friends (one M, one F) this pm (guy who owns the joint we frequent will be thinking i am a lady of leisure. If it were "of ill repute" I would be hanging out somewhere with less chintz in the decor). So am managing to have the indulgence of spending some good time with some good people. Pretty great day so far!

I would sing Happy Birthday To You, but I doubt if you will hear it up in the cold open spaces of Saskatchewan. Have a lovely birthday, have fun and may the next year be one of your happiest!

BTW, I found the Casino at Moose Jaw had the "loosest" slots that I have come across. I walked out ahead, for once.

Happy birthday Dawne! It's probably nearly over by now, but I'm still sending best wishes to last till at least the end of the week! ;-D

Very happy and belated birthday! Just pick the age that suits you - it kind of works for me (as my brother's kids all think I'm several years younger than him).

You can always do what a coworker of mine did. Her son worked in our mailroom when he was in college. He showed up at the office when he was around 40 and went around the building meeting and greeting all the people he had know all those years before.
