My Vietnamese acquaintances make the coffee with a little stovetop espresso machine and stir in the condensed milk--probably the "quick and easy" version?? I have also had it done with extraordinary presentation in a Vietnamese restaurant--I think a cocktail shaker was involved. Whatever way it is done, it is heavenly. Now I want some. Thanks, Karen.

Ack - you're right ladies - it was Vietnamese coffee, not Thai (wrong restaurant memory!) and oh so yummy - also like a coffee sundae :)

Well, I think they are almost the same - slightly different spice mixes with the condensed milk. One has more black pepper in it.
This comes of working with a bunch of Thai and Vietnamese guys/vets (a mix), one summer "shut down" week, we had a pot luck and the Thai guy made his specialty and the guy with the Vietnamese wife brought hers. Both were dang good.

Sorry there is no such thing as too much coffee! Coffee comes from beans. Beans are a vegetable. Momma always said, "Eat your veggies." Enough said!
